Blog Pause

There’s going to be a blog pause, folks.  That’s it for now.  I hope you’ve enjoyed my stories!  I’m with my dog mom and dad while my parents go on an anniversary trip.  My dog parents were so happy to see me!  She sniffed me for a long time.  That’s how dogs remember, is by smell.  Then she started licking me.  I really liked my mom, Fiji, licking me.  I’m glad she remembered me.  I wagged my tail.  My breeder bathed me and trimmed the hair on my face so I could see better!

Zen Garden

My parents built a zen garden in their front yard.  It’s a place for people to just sit, relax, and think,  I’m not really supposed to be in there.  The pea gravel is going to be raked very nicely.

But I think I’ll hop up on the bench for a bit.

Ah.....There, I’m sitting very zen like.  Very peaceful to ponder.  I'm actually watching the guys build a house up there.  My mom also makes rock stacks for decoration but I just hop up and knock them down.  Do you ever knock over a tower of blocks or duplos?

Here I am with another restful thing.  A  Diet Coke!

Crib and a playpen

They say every puppy needs just what a toddler needs - a crib and a playpen.  Well, here’s my crib.  We call it a crate, and this is where I sleep.  I like to take naps in it too.  My parents give me pieces of milk one to reward me for going in the crate.  How about you?  Do you get a reward for going in your bed?  Someday we’ll all be eager to go in our beds!

There’s my playpen.  My parents have it all set up with toys and a bed and water and things.  When I need to play in there for a little bit, my mom puts me in there so she can get something done for a few minutes.  Do you have a favorite place you play?

Favorite pictures

These are a few of my moms favorite pictures of me.  I think I’m just jumping to get at my mom here!

Do you ever jump in the air?  Do you like your picture being taken?

Another one my mom likes is one where I happen to look like I’m waving “hi” to welcome people to the neighborhood.

Waving is a good thing.  It’s friendly.

Sticks, Glorious Sticks

I love to chew on sticks.  I’ve finally given up trying to chew rocks, but I still love to chew sticks.  This one is a tree branch that was probably broken off by a deer.  The deer have returned since the snow left.

It’s probably not that good for me, but I’m still teething and the wood fibers just feel good on my teeth.  Some dogs might chew sticks because they’re a little bored.  I am definitely not bored!  My parents keep me going.

What do you like chewing on?  Probably just your food.  Some kids, in the summertime, like to chew on a long sprout of grass.  They chew on the soft, tender part near the root.  Some kids like to chew gum (if their parents let them.)

My Toys

We all have toys.  These are my toys.  Can you name each one for me?  (Answer key: dog, rabbit, cow, duck, platypus, raccoon,  ball, tug a war rope, elephant, tent stake, smashed milk carton, and green eyed monster.)

I can’t really play toys with my paws.  So I play by grabbing toys with my mouth and whipping them back and forth.

Can you guess which one is my favorite?

Eating Spinach

My mom tries to cut my spinach up little and then hide it will all my other food.  But one by one, I picked each of these little spinach squares with my teeth and spit it out.    But then she keeps trying during lunch and dinner too.  By the end of the day, I do eat all my spinach there :)

Do you ever sneak and hide some of your healthy food?  How do you do it?

Spinach is super good for us.  It has iron in it and helps carry oxygen in our blood.  I’m hoping when my taste buds turn over every 6 months that pretty soon I’ll like the spinach better.

The 2nd day of my mom trying to get me to eat it for breakfast.
