There are always interesting things going on in the neighborhood. Around here there are many new houses being built, so we have a lot of construction sounds. I love them! Hammering wood and steel, bulldozers, trucks beeping because they're going backwards, chainsaws, I love it all.
The guys I’m listening to here had loud Mexican music playing. I liked their music but I liked what they were doing even more! They were hammering rock. Bang! Bop! Pow!
You see, they were covering a front wall with stacked rock. So it’s like a puzzle. When a rock doesn’t quite fit, they just hammer the edges off, clink, clink, clink, until they do fit. I could have sat there all day. It’s good to watch how grown ups work.
What building crafts do you like to do? Do you like to make things with hammer and nails? Do you like to paint wood? Maybe you could get a parent to take you to the Saturday morning kid classes at Home Depot. What about trying a mosaic kit from your local hobby store?
