“Big Boy” Comes for 150th year Celebration

One of the biggest train engines ever, named “Big Ben,” rolled into the county this morning.  It was the 150th anniversary of the Golden Spike.  It was so exciting!  Not rain or cold or wind can keep my mom and I from something special!  And boy, was it loud with lots of steam.  There were about a thousand people there with me at the mouth of Echo Canyon.
There’s the engineer, the driver, throwing something out to his helper.
Even the railroad police came.

I was jumping all around with excitement, especially when I see kid boys that I wanna play with.  One little girl asked to pet me.  She has a white dog at home too.  A man was taking pictures of me.  No one can believe I’m only 4 months old.  I guess I look older.  Most people just ask, “What kind of dog is that?”  “A Portuguese Water Dog.”  “I’ve never seen/heard of that,”

We found an iron spike of our own to remember this special morning.

Here's a little boy we were next to and the drums and sound of the train just made him feel like dancing!  Do you feel like dancing when you hear drums and you're happy?
Have you ever ridden on a train before?  A train is very special.  About 150 years ago, it changed America!  It brought the refinement of the east to the west, and the goods of the west to the east.

  1. Fun! You go so many fun places. My little boys love the videos the best and cheer when a post has a video. :) They like the one where he jumps out of the car. :)

  2. Thanks for the feedback! I have more and longer videos but this blogging vehicle only allows less than 45 seconds. I trim each one.

That little boy is so cute and funny. I've been on a train before and I loved it but it was going kind of slow and Spencer and Eloise fell asleep. - Lincoln

I like trains but I kind of sleep on it. I love to dance to Elsa. - Eloise

  4. That's awesome you three have been on a train! I hadn't heard about that. I bet it was fun to ride on those big benches and look out the windows. And you're right, if the train goes just slow enough, it puts most people to sleep. :)

Eloise, I would like to watch you dance to Elsa.
